Southwest is offering the $99.00 each way specials from PHX to PDX right NOW!!!!!!!!!

We recommend staying at the Monaco Hotel in downtown Portland. You can get there from the Portland International Airport (PDX) by the MAX Train in about 40 minutes (tickets are about $2/per person). The train station is in the Portland Airport and you need to buy tickets from the automated machine before you board. It runs about every 20 minutes.

From the train stop at Mall/SW 5th to the Hotel Monaco it is about a 2 minute walk. We will post a map so check back closer to the wedding date.

You can also get to the wedding and reception at the World Forestry Center on the MAX Train. It is about a 10 minute ride (tickets are about $1.60/per person).

We have blocked rooms at the Hotel Monaco for a special rate, but you must reserve before September 1. If you book after that time, prices may rise and availability may be slim.

The special rate is for a Deluxe Guestroom that has 1 Queen bed is $139/per night plus tax and it does not include parking. If you plan to drive and stay at the Monaco, parking overnight is $20/each night.

Booking Instructions:

1. Visit: Hotel Monaco Website
2. Click on “Reservations”
3. Select the arrival and departure dates, number of adults and number of rooms
4. Enter TBW in the Rate Code field
5. Click “Search”
6. The hotel will display a list of available rates on that date. If your group rate is available on the date you have requested, those rates will be displayed at the top of the list. If they are not available, please select from the rates offered or check availability on another date. If you are trying to book dates outside of the block, please contact Reservations at (503) 222-0001. Or call (800) 711-2971 to reserve over the phone.

We have also blocked rooms at the Holiday Inn Express at a special rate, too, but you must reserve before September 1. If you book after that time, prices may rise and availability may be slim. It is about 2 miles from the Hotel Monaco and a little outside of downtown, so a car would be necessary.

Booking Instructions: For the special rate, the only way to book is to call (866) 492-1100. Don’t forget to mention the Thompson/Brown Wedding special.

Tickets can be purchase at the station before boarding the train.

Airport to Hotel Monaco: At the airport follow signs to the train and board the Red Line MAX to City Center” Get off at  stop “Mall/SW 5^th” (40 minutes)

Hotel Monaco to the Wedding: Walk to the Mall/SW 5^th train stop and board westbound Red or Blue MAX line to Beaverton or Hillsboro and get off at “Washington Park” (10 minutes) Then ride the 260 foot elevator to the top of the Park and walk to Cheatham Hall entrance (across the parking lot from the Oregon Zoo)
