Cubic Compass hired me to be a technical salesperson for thier .net web portal framework and BI dashboard for Epicor Enterprise.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Assist product development by detecting industry trends through networking and research
  • Create marketing materials for product promotion
  • Generate sales lead information from various marketing channels
  • Following up with leads and existing customers in a solution oriented sales process
  • Analyzing industry needs and consulting on business intelligence projects
  • Installing, compiling, testing and debugging Enterprise .NET Web applications written in C# and VB.NET

Duraguard Products
Duraguard Products is a lighting manufacturer based in Vancouver, Washington. They hired me to plan/produce a website that would meet the following requirements:

  • supports a high volume of users
  • Accurate quotes/shipping costs on goods ordered from manufacturers in China
  • The ability to track shipments through manufacturing to delivery
  • Integrate seamlessly with the Mas 200 accounting system they are using. 

The Duraguard Sourcing website became so successful, they decided to revamp thier lighting website and manufacturing website, so they hired me full time as the director of IT.

Web Interface to manage entire site including: Menu, User Accounts, Company Accounts, Discount Rules, Order Process and Statuses, Billing, and Order History Reporting

Menu Hierarchy of Categories, SubCategories, Items, and Ingredients

Items can be composed of ingredients which are required (turkey on a turkey sandwich), removable (tomato), addable for free (mayo), addable for a charge (extra meat), ungrouped (meats on a given sandwich), grouped so a user can select 0-many ingredients (sandwhich toppings), grouped so a user may only select one ingredient (salad dressing)

Combinations of menu Items (Soup & Sandwich or Choose 2 of the following: Soup, Sand., Salad, etc.)

Merchant Account Integration for bill payment. 

silvergreens SILVERGREENS RESTURANT
The owner of Silvergreens, Jay Ferro wanted to build an online ordering system for silvergreen's resturants corporate clientel. The idea was that creating the detailed ordering system for large companies in the area would allow a single delivery during lunch. The requirements for this project were:
  • Completely matching thier menu pricing, including adding and removing items w/charge and without.
  • Discounts by product, by person, by company by food 'combos'
  • Secure payment options(online credit card, paypal, paycheck withdrawl)
  • Integration with thier food prep printer
  • Detailed reporting on order history and products
This project has been quite successful, and Jay has continued to expand his delivery coverage.
SUBLIMITY INSURANCE
This site was designed to be used by agents to use to look up client policy and claim informaiton. The other half of this project was to certify Sublimity for using AL3 transactions. Thier original Database was Foxpro which I converted to SQL7 to serve as both thier inhouse application database and thier web database. My role in this project was both designer and lead developer for both parts of the project. This site is hosted on a Windows 2k Advanced Server with a SQL 7.0 Database.
RANDOM LENGTHS
Random Lengths is a publication for the wood product industry. They came to us with a idea of being able to have a publishing system for the web so that users who do not understand HTML could update pages. The site is a mix of both data driven pages and pages maintained in MacroMedia Dreamweaver. My Role in this project was lead programmer, production artist, and training. This site is hosted on a Windows NT Server with a SQL 7.0 Database.
Straightblast STRAIGHT BLAST GYM
The online home of the Portland Straightblast Gym. Features current gym events,tournaments, philosophy and training information from my coach and friend Matt Thorton, founder of the Straight Blast Gym. It also features an online store where people can purchase Matt's video series or SBGI apparel and a forum where gym members can exchange ideas.

The Gym has been very sucessfull, with online sales exceeding 80,000 a year.

SALVATION ARMY
The Moore Street Community Center is located in NE Portland. While setting up a class to teach kids web publishing I was asked to manage thier project to get on the web. It was created to give the community a place on the web where they could check events on the online calendar, have opportunities for volunteers, and a little about the center itself. It runs on IIS with an Access Database backbone. The design was done by my friend and former boss Scott Mongrain.
WHERENEXT
This site was designed to be a travel resource for the 22-34 age range. The content is data driven and it has a backend/maintence area where certain users have permissions to modify the content. Cool site. My role in this project was as a frontend design consultant and asp/database developer. This site is hosted on a Windows 2k Advanced Server with a SQL 7.0 Database.
QCONSULTANT
The Qconsultant site was desinged for as a sales support resource for Timberland software consultants. The site has an order form, uses SSL for connections. My role in this project was as a support programmer. This site is hosted on a Windows NT Server with a Access 2k Database.
UO EXPERIENCE CD-ROM
This CD was created for students that have been accepted but have not yet committed to the University of Oregon. This project was created with Macromedia Director. It features quicktime movies and vr's. My role in this project was as a director programmer and video producer.
